” The duties of a teacher are neither few nor small, but they elevate the mind and give energy to the character. ” – Dorothea Dix

Effective strategies used to 'teach or reach the male brain' by male teachers
Relate to them by sharing personal experiences
Let them know that they are not alone
Be a role model to them
Provide mentorship
Use many positive male role models as well as have a male expectation and responsibility discussion during various topics. Also I often explain why as a male through science and research why some situations are designed the way they are. I also always try to motivate them give them positive feedback dispite all the negativity regarding men that they hear in society everyday.
Expose them to practical activities
Allow them to make things
Give them instruments to play
Reinforce their self worth at every opportunity i.e. ‘Big them up”
Give them positions of responsibility. Encourage the leader in them
using boys/male related situations and experiences to bring across a concept
active in a uniform group.
Redesign the Classroom. Boys are much more physically active than girls and they need more opportunity to move around and wriggle. …
Use Project-Based Learning. …
Give Students’ Choice. …
Provide More Time for Play. …
Incorporate Games and Competition. ..
Incorporating arts through signing, dancing and writing
1. Field Trips: This can be from around the school compound to different parts of the parish 2. Models: In teaching certain concepts in Geography I have students create the features (river features, limestone features etc.) both at home and during class time.
One – on – One, Audio-Visual
Use of life situations, endorse responsibilities expected of males, exercise gentlemenship, participate heavily in sessions, use of psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, peer share etc…
